We're Up and Running

Construction phase - thanks in the very biggest way possible to my husband, Laird, for making this all happen. Also thanks to Yonny Bettson and Nancy Schabner. Oh! And, of course, to the four legged job foremen, Monty and Kahve.

Are you ready for spring?

I sure am! A Victoria winter may not seem like winter at all to our friends to the east of us, but it has been way more of a winter than any of us here were prepared for. We’ve had windstorms, power outages and SNOW! Our local schools had 3 snow days this year! Where I live we were snowed in for 2 full days. Well, it seemed like we were snowed in…in actual fact, just past the little hill out of the complex I live in the roads were just wet and very little snow actually stuck. Still, for a few days it seemed like the whole world was blanketed in fresh, fluffy white snow and it was nice to sit back and feel snowed in!

The weather is turning now. Today was sunny and warm. It wasn’t quite warm enough to see the “ladies lunching” crowd on the patio across the street at Vis a Vis, but it was definitely warmer than it has been.

This is a welcome change. Within just a matter of days the first of the new spring fashions will be arriving at Shabby Rabbit. It is always exciting when new merchandise arrives in the store. I know the shoppers are eager for it too because every day now someone pops in to inquire “anything new yet?” Soon. Very soon!

It is only fitting that the first new shipment will be from April Cornell. April Cornell is famous for her very beautiful florals and super feminine fashions. Expect to see these arriving in the store by Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Be sure to shop early to avoid disappointment!

Our First Year

It has been a wonderful first year in beautiful Oak Bay Village. So many wonderful friendships have been formed and I have learned so much about so many of you! I count myself very lucky and blessed to be part of this neighbourhood.

With Christmas drawing near and a New Year, and all its promise, fast approaching I am so very thankful to each and every person who has meandered into Shabby Rabbit. We’ve shared many laughs and tears and had a lot of fun.

2019 is going to be full of continued friendships and beautiful clothes. Can’t wait to share it with you!

Thank you all.

It seems like a very long time ago when Shabby Rabbit was still in Dragon Alley, that our first order was placed for Les Ours and Ewa I Walla.  We loved the soft pinks and creams of the floral prints.  We also loved the feminine and romantic look of these clothes.

Well...we've now received our first shipment of Les Ours and can't even put into words how special these beautiful pieces are.

They are a delight for the senses and we are very proud to present them.

Soon, Ewa I Walla from Stockholm and April Cornell will arrive to round out our selection of fine spring and summer fashions.

We offer lay away and are now opening on Sundays from noon to 4.

Christmas Shopping has begun at Shabby Rabbit.

New Magnolia Pearl arrived yesterday.  This shipment includes some wonderfully warm short wool jackets and one wool coat.  I'm so in love with this coat it'll be hard not to take it for myself!

By Friday we'll have our next order of April Cornell corduroy coats.  These ones are called Winter Jewel and are a beautiful purple cotton.

A few more days after that and similar long coats in an olive green corduroy will arrive.

Grateful for visits from special friends this week!
